Promise of Democracy Ohio Citizens Redistricting Program Summary
The Promise of Democracy Foundation (PDF) in conjunction with its fiscally sponsored affiliate the Ohio Voter Fund, (OVF) will re-engage Census 2020 community partners and allies and solicit their involvement in the redistricting process.
This will be undertaken by 1) dedicating staff time to Redistricting policy and outreach activities; 2) Undertake an ongoing Census/Reapportionment/Redistricting Program Design & Development process in consultation with allied partners, 3) Utilize direct mail and phone banking Outreach to Ohio Voter Fund's 3,000+ registered voters, 4) Utilize OVF’s Spoke text Messaging Program to send frequent messages to lists of 10,000-12,000 census track outreach voters in Cuyahoga county, 5) provide regular redistricting updates and action alerts on OVF Facebook page and Social Media outlets; 6) Participate in Trainings/Leadership Development, 8) Build academic partnerships on data collection and analysis, 7) Assist in the turnout of at least 25 people to Ohio Citizens’ Redistricting Commission public hearings, 8) Asist in the turnout of at least 25 people to public hearings and public testimony for the official process, 9) Attend monthly coalition meetings related to Legal communication, Policy and Mobilization and 10) Co-Host or participate in redistricting education events.
